Serving Pittsburgh since 1860
OUR STORY
Hieber's Pharmacy is Pittsburgh's oldest pharmacy, serving the local community for over 160 years. What began as a dream has become a reality, as we continue to provide high-quality compounding and full-service pharmacy services to our customers.
The Hieber brothers originally opened Hieber's Drug Store in the Strip District around 1860. The pharmacy moved several times to various locations, until Frank Stanish bought the pharmacy in 1945 and settled in its present location on the corner of Fifth and McKee. In 1948, Ed (Sonny) Kilkeary partnered with Frank Stanish who remained the owner of Hieber's Pharmacy until Joe Bettinger acquired the store in 2000. Mr. Bettinger retired in 2019 when the pharmacy was then purchased by the current, and first female owner, Dr. Rosemary Mihalko.
